Kraków Food Tour - evening tour
Enjoy an evening food tour!
Our guide will take you on a short walk to Kampania Kuflowa - a well-known beer hall located next to the Wawel Hill, where in a relaxed atmosphere you will enjoy local beer and be able to talk about traditional Polish cuisine and customs related to food. Having had some beer and learnt an extremely useful phrase "Na zdrowie!" (Cheers!) repeated throughout the evening, we will continue by walking down the main street of Kraków - Grodzka. In the middle of the old Royal Road is the next point of our culinary expedition - Chłopskie Jadło, where surrounded by traditional wooden furniture straight from a rural cottage we will try one of the famous Polish soups. Before eating we will learn the compulsory phrase "Smacznego" (Bon Appetit), and during the meal we will learn about many culinary events and festivals in Kraków. With our stomachs warmed by hot soup we will move in the direction of the Market Square, full of many restaurants, cafés and bars visible from afar and encouraging tourists to visit them. However, rather than going to one of them, we will descend into Piwnica Pod Baranami, the legendary place hidden deep underground, known to all the Poles because of the famous cabaret working here for years. Experiencing the bohemian atmosphere of Kraków we will have a glass of excellent Polish vodka and make a toast to the founder of the cabaret - Peter Skrzynecki, and after a short break to take pictures of this amazing place we will go on, straight to the next artistic restaurant, Jama Michalika, to sit in comfortable, soft sofas in the Art Nouveau style and listen to past and present stories of the patrons and the history of Kabaret Zielony Balonik (the Green Balloon Cabaret). Just as they used to in the past, this evening we will have the opportunity to try probably the most famous Polish dish - dumplings (pierogi), served here in many varieties. We will also drink compote - a local, non-alcoholic beverage prepared from cooked fruit according to the recipes of Polish grandmothers.
The guide will leave the sated with drink and food, as well as satisfied group here, but there is nothing to prevent you and your new friends from having the well-started evening turn into in a spontaneous, unforgettable, Kraków night, which may finish, for example, in the morning, with fresh coffee and rolls somewhere around the Market Square...
